Nasreena Ahmad (she/her) is an International Academician with over 30 years of experience holding various positions at schools across Bangladesh, Oman, and USA in the role of Teacher, Administrator, Vice Principal, Principal, and Consultant. Nasreena has extensive experience with curriculum development for K-12 and adult education as well as teacher training in a wide variety of education systems: University of London, Cambridge University, EdExcel, GCSE, and Montgomery Public County Schools (Special Education). Nasreena holds a BS in Accounting; BA in Education; MS in Accounting and MA in Counseling. She currently works as an Educator at the MD State Department of Health’s youth treatment center for young adults who are legally involved. She is also a family counselor for special needs adults and their caretakers. Nasreena is a certified Reiki Master with over 25 years of experience and a certified swimming instructor for children and adults with special needs. Nasreena believes in holistic methods of mind-body-spirit healing, utilizing meditation, energy healing, and water therapy in conjunction with western conventional methodologies to help her clients and students. 

 

She is heavily involved in the Bangladeshi American Community and currently serves as General Secretary of Bongobondhu Porishod, Greater Washington chapter as well as Mohila Bishoyok Secretary of Bongobondu Porishod, USA.  She is the ex-cultural secretary of Chittagong University Alumni Forum Inc of the DC Metro Area and currently serves as their Advisor. Nasreena is also a member of the core Organizing Committee and Coordinator of DC Boi Mela. She has published books on Teaching Mathematics and Indian Classical Dance. 

 

With extensive knowledge in multiple fields, Nasreena hopes to pass on to Laal skills to bolster curriculum development, financial literacy skills, and wellness methodologies in order for Laal’s womxn and staff to live healthy, engaged, and joyful lives.
